The Ranch is a multilevel club that still maintains much of the “bar feel” of east sixth with a more mature crowd. This place very much feels like many other sports bars (bar, ample flat-screen TVs, etc.) but has the redeeming feature of several outdoor balconies with views of downtown ATX that pretty much make the atmosphere. And something to be aware of, don’t wear any UFC related (affliction, tapout, whatever else…) or Ed Hardy shirts, as they aren’t allowed for whatever reason.3 stars0Michael said on June 13 at 06:52 PM Reply0
hmph... ok I guess, but doesn't really stand out on the list of bars I most enjoy for sure. Its really packed and really hot and kindof annoyed me.2 stars0jfowler said on March 08 at 11:17 PM Reply0
I like The Ranch. The staff is awesome and you have two stories of bar and patio. It's very chill and they play good music. Lots of cool friendly people having fun. I would recommend this place without reservation.4 stars0TommyP said on February 17 at 03:36 AM Reply0
I joined a group of girls at this bar for the first time this weekend. They love this place and have gone numerous times, but I wasn't that impressed. They described this place as the new "it" place. Once again, I didn't agree. It was quite warm since most of the bar is outside. The mix of music had a little too much country for my liking. I'll probably go again because of my friends, but not by my own personal choice.2 stars0anna_molly104 said on June 09 at 02:33 PM Reply0
I'm hard pressed to really say anything good about this place, especially compared to other places on West 6th. Sure, it's 2 stories (the bottom floor being pretty useless and dead, good for a quick drink I guess), but so are tons of other places in the area. The top floor has a fairly large bar, connected to a patio. In my opinion, Union Park nearby has a MUCH better patio.
Honestly, this place just isn't that cool. And I mean that literally - in the summer months, stay away from here because even though the top floor is partly indoors, the a/c doesn't feel like it's blowing at all, so you can't really cool off.
The crowd was older... and kinda sleazy. I recall seeing very few good looking people. Go to Union Park instead to find better atmosphere, better patio, and better looking people.2 stars1billy_w01 said on June 06 at 08:02 AM Reply0
